Cat Grooming Training UK

Professional Cat Grooming Training at Purrs & Paws

Cat grooming training is coming to Purrs & Paws.

I’m currently developing a professional, practical cat grooming course designed for those who want to learn how to groom cats safely, confidently and with animal welfare at the heart of every decision.

Whether you’re an experienced dog groomer looking to expand your skills, an animal care professional, or someone wanting to specialise in feline grooming, this course is being created to provide structured, hands-on training in a real working salon.

Based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, Purrs & Paws will offer practical cat grooming training with individual support and real salon experience.

A Welfare First Approach to Cat Grooming

Cat grooming is very different from dog grooming.

Understanding feline behaviour, recognising stress, handling cats safely and knowing when not to groom are just as important as learning practical grooming techniques.

The training programme is being developed around modern, welfare-focused grooming methods, helping students build confidence while always putting the cat’s wellbeing first.

Learn from an Experienced Cat Groomer

Training will be delivered by Kimberley, owner of Purrs & Paws.

Kimberley is a multi-award-winning professional groomer with qualifications in both dog and cat grooming. She is an International Master Cat Groomer, holds the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming and Salon Management, the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming.

Following recent training in Singapore with leading feline grooming educators, Kimberley is bringing modern techniques and practical experience together to help raise standards in professional cat grooming.

Kimberley has a strong education background and is a fully qualified teacher, holding a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). She has experience teaching learners aged 16 and over. As well as roles such as Designated Safeguarding Lead in a specialist SEN school. This teaching background helps shape a course that is well-structured, supportive and designed with the learner in mind.

    Approved CPD Provider

Purrs & Paws is proud to be an approved CPD Provider.

CPD accreditation is about quality and accountability. Every course is independently assessed to make sure it meets recognised standards for professional learning, giving students confidence that they’re investing in training that’s been externally reviewed.

Who Will This Cat Grooming Course Be Suitable For?

This course is being designed for:

    • Dog groomers who want to add cat grooming to their services.
    • Groomers wanting to improve their feline grooming skills.
    • Animal care professionals.
    • Veterinary professionals interested in feline coat care.
    • Anyone wishing to develop professional cat grooming skills.

No matter your previous experience, the focus will be on developing safe, practical skills in a supportive learning environment.

Cat Grooming Training in the UK

Professional cat grooming training is still relatively limited within the UK, despite growing demand from cat owners looking for qualified feline groomers.

My aim is to provide high-quality education that helps raise standards within the industry while giving students the confidence to work safely and ethically with cats.

Every element of the course is being written from the ground up using real salon experience, current best practice and a strong focus on feline welfare. Our mantra is Cats deserve better!
